At Milano Design Week 2026, Veuve Clicquot and Yinka Ilori present Chasing the Sun, an immersive experience rather than a fixed installation. An environment where illumination is treated not as background, but as the exhibition itself. Almost tangible, the light shapes how the body moves.
Staged at Mediateca Santa Teresa in Brera, the project unfolds through a careful tension between intensity and composure. Ilori’s practice, often described as a form of visual storytelling built around emotion, translates here into architecture: fields of saturated color, rhythmic geometries, and sculptural interventions. His work consistently draws from ideas of optimism and cyclical renewal, but in this context those themes are not illustrated but spatially enacted through light and movement.

Within the installation, the “Pillar Room” interrupts the flow of experience. It functions as a as a pause in tempo, where brightness fractures and reflection becomes fragmented. In this in-between condition, the environment shifts from expressive to introspective, revealing how color behaves when it is conditioned.
Color is Code, but in this case Veuve Clicquot’s signature yellow is not applied as identity but dispersed as atmosphere, dissolving into surfaces, reflections, and transitions of light. Objects within the setup extend this logic, blurring the boundary between utility and symbol.

Ilori’s broader artistric practice, shaped by a dialogue between his Nigerian heritage and London environment, often recalls the idea that joy can be constructed through structure and form. In Milan, that idea is amplified into spatial terms, where color became directional.
The end result? Not a linear exhibition, but a shifting field of perception, one that resists fixed interpretation. Light presents its stature not as a static presence, but as a continuously re-encountered dynamic.

Chasing the Sun depicts a story about pursuit rather than arrival. A continuous drift toward brightness that can be sensed, but never fully held.Sometimes, the simplest moments hold the deepest wisdom. Let your thoughts settle, and clarity will find you.
